I’m Kevin Hagel. I’m an American living in Burgas, Bulgaria. I’m a software engineer with over 25 years experience as a developer.
I’m an expert with spring framework, maven, ant, java, tomcat and so on. You’ve seen people like me before.

I had always figured when I retired that I would spend all my time traveling, seeing the world.  I grew up doing that to some extent, because my father was a career military man in the US Air Force.  I lived in France, England, Turkey and seven states in the US before I was 18, so it seems to be in my blood.

I met some people while working a contract in Alpharetta Georgia, some Bulgarian people.  A year or two later they invited me to come to Bulgaria, to see if I would like working here, to “change the software world” there … now here.  I came over for a visit, to interview the country so to speak, and I must have fallen in love with it – because here I am in Burgas now, and here is where I want to be.

And guess what?  I get to travel now   My friend Zlatina worked with tourist companies and agencies during the 90′s, she has extensive experience and knowledge about traveling in this part of the world.  We’ve already been to Istanbul together, we’re planning to see Europe together in the next few years.

You never know where you’re going to end up if you’re willing to go anywhere.  Or whom you will meet if you’re willing to meet anybody.  The world is a Big Place, full of interesting people living in interesting circumstances.  I want to see it all.
